Summer Microwedding in Hood River, OR

Caitlin and Tate had always wanted a day surrounded by their close family and friends. The Pacific Northwest has a special place in their heart, so when it came to booking a venue, they went with the breathtakingly gorgeous Griffin House! The summer vibes were in the air, and the weather turned out perfect for us. Having a smaller, more intimate and intentional wedding allowed for them to be particular with their details and celebrate big with this awesome destination wedding in Hood River.

They chose to get ready in separate suites and had their bridal party help them with all the finishing touches. During the day, the girls had a chill morning and the groomsmen played corn hole in the backyard before suiting up!

Caitlin and Tate’s first look was an iconic moment! Tate broke down in tears, and Caitlin gifted him with a tie clip that was a rose- an ode to her last name. Absolutely love when couples think about little details like that for eachother.

Some of their bridal party even secretly watched from the garden area! Caitlin also chose to do a first look with her bridesmaids, and her father. Each first look was different and you could immediately feel the closeness and understand the relationship she had with all of them. I love when couples choose to add a first look to their timeline. I always recommend it to couples who are planning out timelines with me! It helps you feel connected with your partner throughout your day, helps ease your nerves, and also makes for a great natural and candid photo opportunity.

After their first look, we headed to a garden area to do some bridal party portraits and family photos. With such a small bridal party and smaller families, we breezed through these and had more time for couples portraits. It was awesome to have a stress free timelines and a laid back atmosphere throughout the day.

After the photos, it was time for the big moment - ceremony. Guests trickled in and took in the beautiful scenery. During the ceremony, they recited their tear jerking vows to eachother and the clouds parted just in time for the sun to shine on the bride and groom!

Their guests were overjoyed for them, and were ready to celebrate. Starting with the cocktail hour! With such a small group, Caitlin and Tate were able to chat with each guest and mingle with ease. The details were gorgeous, colorful and summery. Everyone looked fabulous!

The day turned into night as the sun set over the Hood River, and Caitlin and Tate soaked up each moment they could. From speeches, to cake cutting, to dancing, their micro wedding had many hallmarks of the traditional wedding, without the hassle and stress. The vibes were awesome.  From the florals, to the dinner, every detail of the day was absolutely stunning. Their guests danced under the stars of the hood river valley and had a blast. Love filled the air!
