PNW Engagement Session at Cannon Beach

Cannon beach is an absolute gem in the Pacific Northwest in Oregon. Dani and Alex planned an intimate wedding in Texas, but wanted to go somewhere else for their engagement session. We landed on heading to the PNW and I am so glad we did!

It’s a gorgeous setting to do an adventurous and unique engagement session, And Dani and Alex did just that.

We woke up early to catch the morning light and it turned out to be perfect. This beach is gorgeous and wide open, so we were able to shoot around with multiple areas.

It was super easy to get there too! Both Dani and Alex and I ended up staying in hotels in Cannon Beach area, right on the shore. I was pleasantly surprised how inexpensive staying there was in the spring time. Midway through the session, it started drizzling, but we leaned into the weather and got these amazing Notebook-esque shots of these two. Cannon beach did not disappoint with the moody and foggy vibes.

After a short run to our cars to dry off, we drove up to Ecola State Park which was only 10 minutes away. The drive is scenic, filled with a canopy of tall redwood forests dripping with dew from the morning. We didn’t even have to hike too far to get these views right off the coast. Just another reason to do your engagement session in this area if you are looking for adventure, without breaking too much of a sweat. (Disclaimer - always get permits for photography when shooting in state parks!)

We even bumped into some wildlife! Check out the Elk crossing that tried to photobomb our session. I love seeing wildlife when we’re out in the wilderness. Make’s the session all the more adventurous and memorable.

Ecola State Park is where the famous movie, “The Goonies” was filmed, and it happened to be Dani and Alex’s favorite movie. It was only fitting we stopped by this iconic area to capture these two being in love.

At first, they were a bit nervous as they have never really had professional photos taken but pretty quickly they realized that when we work together, it’s kind of like just hangin out with a pal. They were able to be laid back and be themselves!

I cannot recommend Cannon Beach more as a great location for your engagement session. I love shooting in epic locations like this because they make it easy to have fun, hang out and just have a relaxed session! Did you know that when we work together and you book an elopement or wedding day package, a destination engagement session is included?

Inquire below and let’s start chatting about your dream engagement session location.

Happy trails!

Daniela
